Opening early and hopefully getting this conversion done by May. Going through Leslies for liquid chlorine and picking up the Taylor K 2005 kit as well. I will keep you all updated with pics and questions I’m sure.

Welcome aboard! And congrats on your decision to convert to TFP. You're joining thousands that enjoy the truly Trouble Free Pool life... and did I say cheap too? No more expensive potions, big box store generic chemicals you can get waaay less expensive than pool stores. Your test results will be the most repeatable, reliable, and accurate as you can get. You'll very likely test a lot at first to get more confident in your technique. You'll also "get to know" your pool. After that you'll be able to back off and test less frequently. But your decisions about balancing the water will never be guesswork. Always starting from a set of test results that drive proven methods based only on proven science. I think the reason you have so many experts and pool enthusiasts volunteering here is that we're all bored with taking care of our own pools because TFP pools are simple and really trouble free.

If I may ask, where is “they” that you’re looking at?
you’re going to use a ton of reagents so prepare to need a refill somewhat quick with the Taylor kits. How long have you used Baqua in the past?

“They” is Leslie’s. Only pool store around here with quality LC at the time. Not sure how long the pool has been on baquacil but I’ve used it the last 2 seasons and unfortunately with the CDX.

Might check your nearby Lowes. Their website shows they have 187 bottle of 10% Pool Essential liquid chlorine on hand. West Columbia store.

I’ve already checked Lowe’s since they’re right up the road from me. Unfortunately, their LC was almost 10 months old. I paid a little more but went ahead and got 10 cases of 10% that was made just a few weeks ago.

If they have 187 bottles of old stock, might see if you can make a deal and pay 50 cents or a dollar bottle. Of course, they may have no idea that it degrades over time.
So after I add either skimmer sock or ladies hose to my slimmer baskets, should I only recirculate using the skimmers and shut off the drain or should I pull water from the drain also once I add the LC?
i would use both main and skimmer; big thing is to recirculate, NOT filter. Also consider using hairnets in the skimmer instead of socks so you can discard rather than try to reuse. And vacuum to waste as much of the settled goo as possible. good luck.
Cleaned a vacuumed everything. pH tested on the lower end at 7.2 and ran with it. First dose called for 2 gallons of the 10%
