Opening issues

So I usually don't have the issues that I'm having - when opening my pool. I've not been using bleach or any liquid chlorine this opening. I have been shocking it. As of now, I my TA is 0 and my PH is probably 4~.
My CYA is also at 60 already so I'm not thrilled about that. I added 8 pounds of Borax to raise the PH and 8 pounds of baking soda to raise the TA (the app calls for 25 pounds).
Any advice to this ... or just give it some time and retest?

Thanks in advance.

It sounds as if all the various "shock" products you have been using are crashing your other levels like TA and pH. That's not the process we recommend here at TFP to correct a cloudy, algae water issue. Once you get the TA back up to at least 50 and the pH to about 7.2, then implement a SLAM Process. Yes, you'll need liquid chlorine/regular bleach, but those are the best items for chlorination. Very simple with no side effects to speak of. Follow that SLAM page until you pass all 3 SLAM criteria and you should do fine.

If you have questions, post a full set of test results and we'll be glad to help. Don't forget to include your test kit in your signature.

Thanks for the response. I use the trouble free pool test kit. I also just replaced all of my reagents. I've always done the SLAM process but I can't get my hands on bleach like I used to be able to.

It looks like Borax and Baking soda are taking effect. My PH is moving upward and my TA is at 30.
