I have a relatively small pool (15K) with attached spa. Pool requires about 30GMP and spa needs 100GPM (10 10GMP jets http://www.waterwayplastics.com/manuals/810-0023.0109.pdf).
I could use a single variable speed pump but 100GPM exceeds what my cartridge filter or pool heater can support. Instead of getting two separate pumps (with separate circulation for heating/filtering and for jets), I was wondering if it would be possible to "split" the pump's 100GPM output so that 30GPM goes through filter and heater and the rest of 70GPM bypasses both. Then, the two flows will connect (to become again 100GPM and go to the jets).
I have a plumbing to support this type of circulation and happy to provide the details but not sure if there is a relatively easy and accurate way to split water flow as described above.
Thank you,
Mike
