Working to clear my SLAM after opening pool with algae. Had FC up in 25 range (CYA 60-70) for a week. CC levels sub 0.5, clear pool, but still losing ~3ppm overnight(admittedly I didn’t beat the sun this Sunday). Could it be impacted by pollen? There is a yellow ring around the waterline each day - lots of pollen at present.

Gave everything a good brushing today for good measure. Pushed FC back up and will try again tomorrow.

With a CYA of 70 (between 60 and 70 is rounded up to 70), your SLAM Process level for FC is 28.
The more you keep it at 28, the quicker you will rid the pool of algae.

The pollen should be skimmed off the surface and the skimmer emptied before your Overnight Chlorine Loss Test reading after dark - just to rule out the pollen being the issue.

The 3rd criteria is clear water - Gin clear with no signs of algae (either alive or dead).

I think you have a little ways to go in your SLAM Process still.

Pollen might contribute a bit, but a CC of 0.5 and loss of 3ppm overnight points to your chlorine still fighting algae. My guess it is in some hiding spot. Have you scrubbed/checked these places (if applicable):
- skimmers, including the weir door
- behind the lights
- stairs/removable steps

Also as provia mentioned, your FC should be a bit higher to officially be at SLAM level.
