On the PoolMath site, for my pool that does not use a salt generator, I am supposed to enter 0 in the "salt" category right? It seems to default to 1000 . Thank you

Unless you used distilled water to fill your pool there is salt in it. Also most all chemicals added to the pool add some salt. 1000 is a default value because that is a somewhat typical level for pools that do not have an SWG to even out at. Unless you know your salt level you should just leave it at the default.
