OmniPL - what Min. Pump Speed to Use

I just upgraded to Hayward OmniPL from my old eCommand system. I notice that when I turn on the pump manually, after the initially priming time, it defaults to the minimum pump speed, which I think is like 15% or 20% or 680 rpm’s or so. I could not get the minimum pump speed setting off my old eCommand as it died before the replacement so I went with the default minimum speed in the Omni setup wizard. Just wondering what considerations or rules of thumb go into setting minimum pump speed? On a related note, does the Omni system always go with the minimum pump speed when started manually?

No rule thumb. Every pool is different and dependent on the equipment and setup you have. Basically, you want to set the RPM as low as possible but high enough so that what every function (SWG, Heater, Skimmers, etc) you might have all operate properly when you want them to.

For the skimmers, you will get best skimming action if the water is traveling over the top of the weir door.

The pump should first prime if priming mode is enabled in the configuration but then should revert to the speed selected in the display.
