Hi gang,
I have an OmniLogic powering a T-15. I had a generic cell model in not too long ago and it started giving low salt warnings when the salt level was fine (tested with a kit). It was a number of years old, so I assumed it was going bad and bought a new cell - true Hayward this time. The cell worked fine for a week or so, but now I’m getting a weird situation where it’s producing chlorine sporadically.
I’ve noticed in the diagnostics that sometimes when the system says that it’s on, it’s not actually sending any amperage to the cell. I can sometimes get it to start working again by pressing the cycle button in the Omni controller (in the chlorinator screen). I can hear a distinct hum from the Omni when it’s showing that it’s sending anmperage and creating the tell tale chlorinating bubbles coming out of the jets. It’s basically quiet when it’s showing zero amps (but supposedly active). Just to be clear, the zero amp thing is happening even when running a super chlorination cycle (so it’s not just between intervals).
Has anyone run into this? I’m assuming a board is going bad in the Omni, but don’t really know where to start poking around or what to replace to verify that.
Appreciate any insight or thoughts.
Thanks!
