OmniLogic and heater schedule

Hi everyone,
Thank you for all of your help so far. I have another question on my OmniLogic that I cannot seem to figure out. I am having trouble with my heater schedule. I can turn my heater on and off manually from the omnilogic and change set points. But no matter what schedule I set in the OmniLogic for my heater, it doesn’t run. All of my other schedules run (filter pump and lights). Does anyone have any experience with this that can help me? I made sure to put my heater schedule within my filter pump schedule so that there are no conflicts, but that didn’t help.

Ok. I figured it out and just wanted to update this post in case anyone was having a similar problem. The issue is that the schedule puts the heater at the last temperature that it was set to. Since my schedule called for 88F and my last set point was 88F it wasn't showing a change. I assumed that the schedule would turn the heater off. It does not. It leaves it on an on state. So once I manually leave the heater at 70F it works by putting the heater 88F between my schedule times and then reverts it outside of that.

Thank you very much for your post. I have had this same problem for a couple of years and had all but given up and resorted to manually turning my heater on and off but couldn't let it go completely after paying for the omnilogic to automate as much as possible. Thanks to your post the heater schedule is now working perfect.

Having a similar issue. So, is your set point for the heater outside of the schedule lower than the required temperature during the schedule?

My heater won't turn on from the schedule, and then won't turn on manually from the app when the schedule is running. I have to go to the heater, take it out of bypass, set the temp, and then later on return it to bypass to control from the app. For example, water temp this morning was 78 and I have the schedule to het to 85 on the weekend. Schedule didn't kick on this morning, so I had to take the heater out bypass and set the temperature. Heater fired up fine and away it goes. Later, I will put it back in bypass and be able to control it manually from the app.

When you say bypass, you mean an electronic bypass valve? What firmware are you on? The latest OmniLogic firmware allows you to add a bypass valve when setting up the heater. Once that is done, the bypass valve is automatic. When the OmniLogic calls for the heater to run the valve opens and the heater starts. When the OmniLogic calls for a stop the opposite happens.

Hmm. That’s a strange one. Is your OmniLogic on the latest firmware? The issue that I had first discussed was fixed in the new firmware. The schedule actually turns on and off the heater now as opposed to how it used to work.
