I'm getting ready to do my first SLAM on Coleman 22x52 10.4k gallon Salt Pool. My numbers are all over the place because I've been doing partial drains/dilution to get my CYA down.

I've been fighting an algae bloom due to the extreme heat in the Southern USA

Going to get my pH bumped up to 7.2 today and start adding bleach this evening.

My Salt, TA and CH are really low so I need to get them up as well. Is it OK to correct these during the SLAM, or should I wait until afterwards (or before)???

Current numbers
FC 3.33
TC 3.62
pH 7.0
TA 27
CH 35
CYA 40
Salt 1920

Intex 16" Sand Filter

What test kit are you using?

Where did those water tests come from?

Dont touch your pH. It is fine.

Get your TA up to 60-70 and it will raise your pH a bit.

Dont add calcium until after your SLAM. It can crash your FC.

Those numbers came from 2 local stores (Leslies and Pioneer). Their numbers matched. I have a K-2006 getting delivered tomorrow

You can't SLAM at the pool store. Forget the inaccuracy for a moment, you need to test far too many times. They'll bounce you by lunch when the 'free test' is actually free because you don't buy their suggestions.

And they're simply not open for either part of the Overnight Chlorine Loss Test. Without proving there's no overnight FC loss, you can't say that the slam is complete.

Retest when the k2006 comes. The pool store gets CYA particularly wrong and it's critical to the process. (y)

Don’t do anything until you get your K-2006 test results then let’s discuss.

In the meantime pour at least 5ppm of liquid chlorine in daily to keep your algae from getting worse.

Thanks for the input. I'm not going to do anything until the K2006 gets here. My main question was regarding fixing the other issues while the SLAM was happening.

I'll get my TA and salt up and then start on the FC when I can test reliably. I'll work on the CH after the SLAM is done. Sound right??

I would not adjust anything until you have your own test results.
