If the algae is still present dead or alive continue to slam. If it looks clear but when u brush it clouds up - keep slamming. Also backwash when pressure rises 25% over clean.

Perhaps but if you can see dead algae, your SLAM is not complete.
Repeating.....Finishing the SLAM requires three things...
A. Pool water should be crystal clear with no sign of algae anywhere (that's where you fail.....dead algae counts as a sign of algae....keep SLAMming)
B. CC's test result should be .5 ppm or less
C. You should not lose more than 1 ppm FC overnight.
Just put garden hose into sand filter to flush out. Wasn't a whole lot of stuff, it was hazy for probably a minute or so, then I was able to see the sand more clearly. Used a thin piece of pvc pipe to crunch around in the sand, being careful to watch for the "whatever those things are called" ☺. Once everything was back connected I turned filter back on. Water shot out really strong for about 10 seconds, looked bubbly at first but wasn't cloudy like before. Guess all I can do is wait and maintain slam.
I t sounds to me like you will see improvement but probably not miraculous improvement. Stay the course.
