Not receiving notifications in forum

I have my preferences set to receive notifications and emails for everything. However, I don't receive any notifications and receive emails only for conversations.

Also, once I answer a question or start a new thread, that thread falls into limbo and I never know if there were further posts or answers to my thread unless I go back through My Content under my account info.

What to do?
