Non-Solar Non-Winter Covers

Hi everyone. Our solar cover heats the pool too much, and I was looking for a cover that would help with evaporation and chlorine degradation but not add much heat. When it's really hot, the pool can get up to 90º and that's no fun when you're trying to cool off.

I have searched high and low and can't find anything that isn't (a) a solar cover, (b) a winter cover, (c) a tarp. We've got a kidney-shaped pool, too, which narrows the options.

Does anyone have thoughts or a recommendation on something we can put on the reel that won't overheat the pool?

Welcome to the forum!
That isn't how it works. If you cover the pool, it will get warmer. Alot warmer. You are cutting off the evaporation, which is what cools the pool.

This seems like a really good option for us. I also talked with a few people who suggested cover off at night. We still get some evaporation loss, but the heat regulation is so much better. Next step is finding a cover that takes a little longer to deteriorate than the current one.
