I want to thank TFP for the informative post about no drain acid wash. I'm new to TFP and this year our pool has a lot of calcium silicate + algae staining. I am doing a no drain acid wash.

I have a quick question: should the pool pump run during the treatment period? Or, should the pump be off?

I don't have a heater. I have a salt pool and a DE filter. I am thinking about setting the valve to the "recirculate" mode. But, I'm wondering if I may damage equipment by running the pump. Thanks!

When ours was done by our builder & plaster rep to fix some plaster issues, all our equipment was off, valves turned off and they suspended a pump in the middle of the pool to circulate the water.
