No bump handle resistence

I have the Hayward 50C DE filter and now have no resistence on bump handle. Last night on bumping I may have heard soemtning crack and the handle went limp. mHandle itself is fine. Maybe something wrong in the piston that pushes down?

HELP!!

Welcome to TFP! No resistance at all? Does it feel like maybe the handle connection broke from the bump shaft inside? Maybe the pivot pin or shoulder screw came loose? Below is a parts link. Might give you some ideas. You may have to just open it up to inspect.

It looks like the star shape piece in the tube sheet is loose. Should it be floating or stationary in the sheet?
Also do the flex tubes work if they are cracked off and hanging loosely? Thanks
