Thanks for allowing me to join you. I’m in Wisconsin, US. We installed a 27’ above ground pool this summer. We’ve been up and running for about a month. I’ve bought a Taylor test kit and have found it very helpful.
I haven’t run into too many troubles. Our pool is clear of algae and has an automatic feeder. My question today is about shocking. Do I need to shocks pool weekly if my chlorine has remained stable? I shocked it once and it took 2 days for my chlorine levels to go back down.
Oops, one more- how much do I need to run my pump?
thanks for your time.

Hello Karynvr! Welcome :handwave:

No need at all for weekly "shocks".... they serve to sell chemicals at the pool store but as long as your pool has been maintained in the TFP manner, there is no need!

Most folks run the pump as many hours as it takes to keep the pool as clean as they like. The pump is strictly filtering and circulation.... if you have a skimmer it keeps the surface cleared of debris. Start with 6 hours or so and go up or down based on your pool's appearance and that your testing is good.
