Hi Guys! Bought a home with our first pool last September and had to replace our liner soon after moving in due to a huge rip. Turned out there was a mess of problems including the main drain was not being used. Due to financial reasons we just kept it that way, so we are operating it basically as an above ground pool.

We replaced the salt cell about two months ago (ppc 1) and things have been working fine until suddenly 2 days ago chlorine dropped to zero. No error messages or anything. We ran a boost and added a bunch of conditioner per our local pool store and this restored the levels. Checked this morning and we are low again. We started getting this message yesterday "purifier off add salt 650 lbs" but our salt levels are normal between 3000-3200 ppm according to our readings.

this is an older unit we think - could it be the trisensor? What do I do!? Other note is we are going out of town for a week - how can we make sure pool doesn't turn green while we are away?

Have already learned a lot here - help would be so appreciated!

Hi, welcome to TFP! What brand and model is the saltwater chlorine generator? Before you leave town you can use liquid chlorine to raise the FC up to slam levels. If you post a complete set of test results we can help you determine how much chlorine you need.

I have a DIG-220 as well. Run the "test pool pilot" as suggested in the post above mine. If you're getting 19 volts and around 4.9 amps, the cell should be working properly so the problem could be low salt. If the amount of salt is adequate, chlorine should be getting produced. I would verify the salt level by having your water tested at a local pool store.
