Hello all! First-timer to the forums. We have a 16x30 inground saltwater pool with vinyl liner. Came here for those pesky little "tweeks" and knowledge. We put the pool in when we built our home in 2022 after the tornado of 2021 decided it needed our first home. Have had no issues until this year; we have scattered white patches upon opening. After reading, I think this is calcium plaque or possibly white mold? Doesn't move. Feels a bit gritty. Put muriatic acid and hardness in last week, per the pool store's recommendation. Water is crystal clear. Salt generator seems to stay right around 2100. I didn't know I'd find this forum, so I don't have the readings I took this morning, but just wondering if my suspicions - if anyone has experience with this? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TFP! We would be happy to help coach you through some water testing. You'll want to test your water yourself though, none of the free local testing stuff. Horrible testing and advice. I'll post some links below for you to consider. I love the TF-100/Pro-Series kits, but a Taylor K-2006C will work as well. We look for test results from either of those kits to help with reliable guidance. A great swim season starts with at-home reliable water testing.

Also be sure to update your signature with all of your pool and equipment info. It comes in handy for each response.
