Approaching the end of our build as we speak. (See here: New Construction (fiberglass) - Chicago, city proper)
Wanted to check in I make sure I have the right chemicals.
  • Chlorine - while I have a SWG I know I’ll need to have a reliable source of liquid chlorine. I bought two, with the chlorox product being significantly cheaper. Are both okay to use? See below pics of both products:
  • Muriatic acid - see below:
  • CYA: see below:
Anything else I need? Already have my test kits, brushes. AB01900C-4B50-4B98-AACC-F48BE9BB274E.jpegC629A534-856F-4D09-A796-955D57254B18.jpeg56B3F876-5646-4AED-91A4-A8564B8B7872.jpeg654C2FF6-8C03-49AA-91E8-CC625EE9D0F1.jpegBFCBAFAD-DED1-4790-8ACD-A84E60FC3E12.jpeg

Those products are fine. The Clorox bleach is 60% of the strength of the Pool Shock. Also be ware of Clorox products in general, they tend to put a lot of additives in them.

That acid is fine. It is half strength, so be sure you select the 14.5% one in Poolmath. There are full strength muriatic acid typically available in the pool sections of Home Depot, Lowes, or at pool stores.

Thank you for the reply. I guess that’s my concern with Clorox. I don’t want to cause some problem with my pool over the long term. Should I just pay more for the Champion pool shock? I don’t anticipate using liquid chlorine every day so I’m happy to pay more.
