New with DE Filter issue

Hi

I have a Pentair quad 60 DE cartridge filter with a Pentair 261152 multiport valve. The cartridge filters are blowing out after a couple of weeks. It appears that the water from the pump is entering in though the outlet of the filter tank which I'm sure is causing the problem. It is plumbed according to the instructions but it continues to be a problem. Can anyone help?

Do you have the correct multi port valve for that filter? I believe Pentair has different MPV’s for sand and DE but they look very similar. If you put the wrong MPV on, you’ll blow out your cartridges.

The Pentair valve that I have (261152) says "perfect for Pentair DE filters"

It is "perfect" for normal DE filters, but not the quad.. The Quad DE takes either the 261055 or the 261050..

The one you have will send water in the output port.. Hence your problem..

Wow! Thank you - it was installed with the pool so I will be calling the pool company.
