I found this site while trying to find what to do about putting way too much algaecide in at opening(not as a necessity, but "recommended" by the pool place).
I'm so happy to find out I can get out from under the weight of a "chemical area" in my garage and do away with my Nature2-90-dollar-a-year cartridge.
My pool has always been crystal clear and I've had minor algae only once. I always thought it was from using all the junk in my garage, but probably because I chlorinate to the high side.
I've ordered a real test kit and I'm ready to do things the easy way.
