New to building a pool, owning a pool, and caring for a pool.. first two completed

I had a problem with the heater coming on by itself so I set it at a very low temp. That seemed to take care of the problem. i just set the SWG to zer percent all around so we will see what we see.

I think I found my problem.. I am from Illinois so i am a bit embarrassed by my discovery. When we moved to Phoenix I guess i deleted my internal warnings about low temps. When I went to check the chemistry today I did it in the early morning instead of the afternoon as usual. When i opened the specimen bottle it had ice in it.... I didn't think of the relationship for some time.. my chemicals in my set were also exposed to freezing temps.
I will order all new reagents and see what shakes out.. bet that is the problem though.

Please keep us updated. Maybe do a test with BOTH sets to see what happens. It can be a learning experience for all of us.
