I converted from Baquacil 5 weeks ago. After 4 weeks on bleach I installed a CircuPool RJ30+. It produces 1.5 pounds CL per day (12ppm in my 15k pool). I used the Diamond Crystal Bright & Soft salt pellets from Lowes. The first few days I noticed that the CL levels in the morning were reading low. I started to suspect a problem so performed an OCLT with SWG off to verify that the pool does hold chlorine with 0 loss overnight. The next night I used bleach to bring FC to 5.5 and ran unit at 100% output. First thing this morning after 9.5 hours the results are:
FC 6.5
PH 7.4
CYA 70
TA 80
CH 150
Salt 3840
Temp 83
So the SWG only produced 1 ppm CL when it should have produced about 5 ppm. SWG is correctly wired to 220VAC and showing 22V, 4.75A. The generate light is on and all other warning lights off. Single speed pump is running fine and sand filter pressure is normal at 18. Phosphate level is 350 ppb and the Circupool guide states that above 100 will “greatly increase chlorine demand” but the OCLT should’ve ruled this out as a factor.
Could the SWG be defective even though it shows proper voltage and current? Any advice is appreciated.
