New Spa Owner Seeking Advice

I bought a house with a 325 gallon Trevi 1000 Fiberglass Spa with a cover.

I just washed the spa today with ahhhsome degunker and changed the water today. I would like to get started right so we can use the spa on weekends.

I have some HTH sanitizer, pH up, and pH down. Can I use them?

Yes, you can use your HTH sanitizer, pH Up, and pH Down, as long as the sanitizer is dichlor (check the label). Avoid using calcium hypochlorite, as it’s not ideal for spas. After refilling your spa, test the water, adjust alkalinity (80–120 ppm), and balance the pH (7.4–7.6). Then add the sanitizer as directed, run the jets for 20–30 minutes, and re-test. I just got my CPR certification through the American Lifeguard Association, so I’m also learning how to keep things safe and well-maintained!

TA is not 80-130 in a spa. It is wherever you PH stabilizes. Usually lower than 80.

How are you testing you water? Guess strips are not accurate.
