Hi everyone

I want a new pump for these reasons: My pump is 17 years old, its noisy when running now, it doesn't start the first-time every-time, it will not pump water up 7ft to the slide unless filter has just had a fresh backwash is 20 psi)

The current pump is a Sta-rite dyna-glass 3/4 pump. It gets water by one 1.5" pipe. It eventually pumps back out to pool by one 1.5" pipe. That one 1.5" outlet pipe eventually leads to 3 pool inlets with 3/4 inch balls. I liked this pump because it was easy to open and trouble free. Only complaint is I wished the leaf basket was bigger.

Can I bump up to a 1 hp Single speed pump? I think this would pump up to the slide better.

Should I consider a two-speed pump? or a Variable speed pump?

What design model was your favorite for easy cleaning and opening?

Thanks for lending me your experience.

Turnover is a myth. Read...

What slide are you referring to?

Any of the pumps will work fine for you. A 2 speed or VS pump will save in electrical costs.

Thanks for the tip about pool turnover

The slide I am referring to is a slide that people climb and then slide down into the pool. It has a connection to the pump. If there is enough pump pressure water will flow down the slide and make it more slippery :)
