I was quoted $1260 from my pool maintenance co for a new Pentair Intelliflo 2 VST pump installed (trade industry install with 3 yr warranty). I currently have a single speed Pentair pump. They also quoted $310 for Pentair Intellicom 2 installed. I currently have the Jandy IAqualink system of automated controls using my smartphone.

Is this a decent installed price? Not sure if I even need the Intellicom 2 stuff.

How is the Intelliflo 2 VST different from the standard Intelliflo VST?

I am in Phoenix AZ.

ETA: the Jandy Aqualink firmware is Q772XG98GJQC

jp,

I am a highly biased Pentair kind of guy and think that the Intelliflo is the "Gold Standard" for pool pumps...

That said, unless your automation system can control it without the Intellicom, it is not the pump for you.

Some, Jandy systems can control the original IntelliFlo pumps, I suspect that they can't fully control the newest VSF version...

Tell us which Jandy Automation system you have and if possible the Firmware version... We have a couple of Jandy experts that will know for sure...

If me, I'd buy the older IntelliFlo if it can be controlled by your Jandy system.

The whole point of having an automation system is so that you can control the pump and you don't want to do that with some kluged together option that will only give you a couple of speeds.

I have the iAqualink for use with my smartphone. Not sure of firmware as I'm at work but i'll check this weekend. One reviewer on Amazon said the Intellicom 2 was pointless with iAqualink.

Edit: repair quote was for Intelliflo 2 VST pump, not VSF
