New pump doesn't line up...how to loosen old fittings?

My new pump today came but it's higher than my last pump and doesn't line up. I tried to raise my inlets up but they are stuck. I tried some WD40 with no luck. Any other ideas? Could I use 2 45s to make up the difference?
