New Poured Concrete Deck Dangerously Slippery

Worthington, oh
We just had a lightly broomed, concrete deck poured two days ago by a concrete company that has experience with pools. They sealed it the day of the pour. Yesterday afternoon, the concrete was incredibly slippery, to the point that several people fell even though they were being careful. Even the dry areas were slippery under wet feet.

I'm waiting to hear from the concrete company but there's no way this should be happening. Is this something that will get better with time? Or did they use sealer that didn't have an anti-slip additive or possibly they applied too much sealer? We're really stressed that we have to deal with this safety issue.

We were told not to put any furniture on the concrete until the third day but would it be okay to put a rug on it today to provide temporary safety without leaving any permanent marks?

Thanks.

Yeah I’m with James on this. I’ve never herd of concrete being sealed the same day as the pour. Why was it sealed in the first place, did the concrete company suggest it? And if so, why? I have poured concrete at my place that is 20 years old and has no cracks and looks new. It’s never been sealed, and besides a few minor stains, mainly from bbq splatter, it cleans up easily.

my concrete was very slick (when wet ). there was no broom finished applied after the pour. we also wanted ours colored and had talked to a concrete decorator to put a colored skim coat over it and a sealer.
he said we had to wait for the concrete to cure (about a month) before he could start.
it fixed the slickness and looks great
