I am finally almost ready to install new above ground pool and had a question about using hard pipe PVC. I cant seem to to get a straight answer on using 1-1/2" vs 2" PVC.
The pool is 18X12x52" oval (approximately 6000 gallons)
The pump and filter will be about 25' away. It will be almost a straight run with 90 degree elbow down into the ground and one back out of the ground for both the supply and return line. Might need another elbow depending on final layout. They will also be at about the same level as bottom of pool. Maybe 2-3" higher.
Pump is Blue Torrent 1HP (115V) and it say Qmax 62 GPM
Filter is SL 90 Black Diamond Cartridge Filter
Both the pump and filter are 1-1/2" inlet and outlet.
I plan on installing a gas pool heater as well and I know that has a 2" inlet and outlet.
Not sure if I should run the 2" everywhere and downsize at pump and filter or run 1-1/2" everywhere and up size at heater?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
