New Pool Project Oklahoma City - Dig Underway!

Plaster was installed on Friday the 13th, they weren’t able to get back to acid wash until Saturday morning. We unfortunately had to be out of town for a few days so the builder took care of brushing the pool and getting the chemicals started. Water looks cloudy still now but is improving, I think the pump isn’t turning the water over fast enough at the moment. Plan to start testing the water today and see where we are, still waiting for the electricians to come by and finish hooking up the lights and the bubbler pump.

It has been relatively windy since we got back into town (no surprise in Oklahoma) and this morning i was able to get a better look at how the plaster turned out. For the most part it looks pretty even (walls, benches, tanning ledge, spa) all look good, but there are some places on the bottom of the pool that aren’t very uniform and I wanted to throw the pictures up here for input. My first thought is the acid wash guys missed these spots as some of the areas that are uneven in color also feel rougher/slightly raised compared to the areas around them. We have been keeping an eye on pH and working to make sure it stays in the right range. The first picture is the area around the main drains, this is the most noticeable area of discoloration and the pattern is circular around the drains. The second pic is below one of our benches and just has a general random discoloration. The third picture shows 2 white spots that can definitely be felt sitting a bit high. Thoughts?

Every plaster job is a hand made masterpiece.. hand made is the key and every pool has its own personality... With that said as long as you are happy with it and there are no major flaws like some we have seen you are doing great.. You can keep hitting the rougher spots with the brush a little more and see if that helps.. You can also use sand paper as some have done.. :)

The wind, always the wind, Always blowing from the south in the summer and the north in the winter.. At least the tornadoes took a break this year..
