We opened our brand new pool about 4 weeks ago. It's about 16,000 gallons. It has an inline chlorine dispenser, and I've just started 3inch tablets vs 1 inch tablets. My first round of 3 inch, I overloaded, and my FC shot up to 10, and stayed there for about 4 days. It's since come down to a normal'ish range. I'm hearing between 3ppm and 6ppm is optimal.
I have an automatic tester. My Chlorine is a tad high (5.7, my PH seems on point, 7.4, my CYA is 66(which I think is in range) - BUT, it says my Total Alkalinity (TA) is 255 (target 100). Any tips on bring TA down, without throwing off all my other numbers? Tips I read online was to use Muriatic Acid (which I don't have on hand currently) or to use PH Down (which I DO have, but I think that would lower my PH, which I'm not really wanting to do.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
