Hi... I just wanted to thank TFP for the incredible resource that you are. We're from the southern Caribbean and it's incredibly hot down here. We decided to get ourselves a simple intex pool that I thought was only plug and play. Oh boy, was I wrong, even at that size there's so much to learn and maintain.

Originally we excited to swim then realised that we had green water when it was filled. Being newbies we didn't even get out all of the wrinkles in the vinyl so soon the pool floor was choices with brown algae. We were told it was sediment, some said iron, etc. We upgraded the pump, brought out the socks and got to work everyday. Bought miraclear, bought sequestrant, bought algaecide, bought large bucket of trichlor. The list goes on. We battled for a month with different opinions of pool gurus online and at local pool stores. Then searching online, I canme across TFP and was drawn to the precise and definitive processes.

Preferring not to be confused by so much varied info, I evection found TFP and I learnt what I could about algae and maintenence through the Pool School and forum chat. Downloaded Pool Math and got to work again. For the past week, the water isn't green anymore as its crystal clear now. I'm freaking out of I see anything that looks discoloured on the pool floor lol.

Now just trying to get the chemistry in check. I really did not know that pool care was a lot of work, but it's very relaxing IMO. I do need a better test kit though.

Readings to date are
FC 5
pH 7.8
TA 60
CH 100
CYA 40

Thank you for everything TFP
