My wife and I just purchased a house with an approximately 30-35K gallon, Hayward TCell940 salt chlorine cell, AquaRite Electronic Chlorine Generator, Pentair Triton TR-100 sand filter, Pentair Intellitouch free form pool with spa.

Admittedly am a bit overwhelmed but found TFP through Reddit and am trying to dive right in.

Pool was serviced by the company that installed the pool but can no longer service the pool. Was considering hiring a service for the remainder of this year so I don’t screw things up but I’m sure I can learn. I figured I would give it a go to maintain the pool and am trying to learn as much as I can.

Pump runs 24/7, previous owners left a Polaris pressure side automatic pool cleaner. I purchased a Betta SE plus skimmer for the pool too.

Will be ordering TF-Pro Salt with ph tester, salt strips, and standard sampler.

Attached is the last maintenance slip that they left on July 17.

I have not done anything to the pool yet and will be leaving for a week this upcoming weekend. Have not tested water yet with strips or brought water into pool store.

Think I may need to backwash too based on the pressure.

Am concerned about being gone for a week and coming back to a not so clear pool. Any advice, tips, suggestions, talk me off the ledge would be appreciated.

I will continue to read Pool School, search the forums, and learn as much as I can.

Looking forward to learning from the TFP community.

Welcome to the forum!
I would increase the output of the SWCG by 2 or 3 ppm FC per day for while you are gone. Also backwash before your leave.
Hopefully you will have your test kit delivered by the time you return and then run a full set of test results and post them here.
I suggest you read through Pool Care Basics - Trouble Free Pool and even look at a few of our videos TFP-TV - Trouble Free Pool

ad,

Congrats on the new pool and welcome to TFP! You'll need a recommended kit to use our methods so please get that kit ordered asap! Also, please add your signature that contains all the basic information about your pool that is needed so our volunteers can respond to you quickly, it helps you and it helps them be more efficient with their time. It's very easy - here's how.

How does the pool water look?

Thank you. Will learn about how to increase output of the salt water chlorine generator by 2 or 3 PPM Free Chlorine. Have been watching videos about how to backwash too.

TF-Pro Salt ordered today. Also, added info to signature.

Pool water is clear and otherwise good at the moment. No issues to report at the moment, just trying to be proactive so I don't come back to something unpleasant.
