New pool owner, first test > no chlorine

OK -- high FC levels with fresh plaster can impact the color.

I would first try raising your FC to 20% of CYA level for a few days. See if that resolves things.

Be sure you lower your pH to 7.2 prior to adding the chlorine to raise the FC.
One last question: planning to go get Muriatic acid to lower pH, but what is the reason for lowering it? Isn’t my last reading of 7.5 within range? Thanks!

SLAM Process
The suggestion was to raise your FC to 1/2 SLAM level as you have new plaster.
Normal SLAM level is 40% of CYA. Suggestion was to raise your FC to 20% of CYA level.

The reason to lower pH to 7.2 is thatyour FC will be above FC 10. The pH test isn't reliable at FC over 10. You won't be testing pH until the SLAM Process is over.

Maintained my 14 FC level and did another OCLT. Only dropped .5! CC was 0. Water is looking super clear this morning too 😀 I presume I can let it get back to within FC range (3-10) on its own? Thanks again for everyone’s help!
