New Pool need equipment advice

Hello,

We are starting construction in the next couple weeks on our first pool. The pool builder is allowing me to purchase and install all my own equipment because I didn’t like what he had standard with the pool contract. Hayward sand filter and single speed Hayward pump and no salt system.

I need help help with what exactly I need to purchase to make this process go smoothly.

He is installing two LED Pentair lights so my first thought is to go with all Pentair equipment.

Pool is 16x32 foot with an additional 12x7 ledge/step. I calculated the approximate volume at 17500. 3 foot shallow + 4 foot area + 6 foot deep end. We also are going with the S.R. Smith Helix slide so need a pump that will get enough water to the slide.

Because the pool builder isn’t installing any of this equipment I need to know what else I need to purchase to make everything work.

We live in Iowa so we have a 4-5 month season.

Cartriage filter size. Looking at either the 320 or 420 Pentair CCP.
Pump - Pentair Superflow VS Pool Pump
heater - Pentair 250k MasterTemp
salt system - IC40 + power center

thanks for the help.

I would suggest getting the Easytouch automation with the IC40 integrated SWCG system. And a Pentair Intelliflo 011018 pump.

Then your pump and SWCG will be easily controlled from the Easytouch, as well as your lights an any other electrical items around your pool.

What specific model number EasyTouch would I need? No spa so it would be just pool, heater, pool lights, pump, SWG, and landscape lights.

Thanks

Is the pool builder / installer doing all the plumbing work?

The only good advice I can offer personally, is that I'd go with a variable speed pump for sure. HUGE energy savings even running the pump 75% vs 100%. Slowing that pump down just that tiny bit uses WAY less power. I'd do that for sure.

Yes he will plumb everything from the pool up to the equipment pad. I will plumb the equipment pad. I mentioned check values and sweep elbows and he looked at me like I was crazy. So I gave him a layout of where I want the suction side and return stubs at and I’ll go from there.
