We finally had our pool completed and we have been taken great care of it and doing everything we were told. We love it, but we have noticed dark steaks under our skimmers and some jets. Any clue what this could be? We have scrubbed as good as we can thinking it was calcium build up, but no luck. And all of our friends including a pool cleaner said he has never seen this and has no clue as to why it's doing this. These are the best pictures I can get at the moment. Please help any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Welcome to TFP.

It looks to me like the dark streaks align with the edges of the stone. It was probably caused by some dirty water during the initial fill.

Sand the areas with 80/100 grit wet/dry sandpaper or diamond sanding pads to expose new palster color underneath and then see if the streaks ever return.

Thank you I will give that a try. Now the sand paper won't damage the plaster? Can I do that on rough edges too?
