New Pool Coping Inconsistent size question

We are getting our pool coping re-done as it was pretty trash from 20 years of wear. They have worked quite a few days on the job and have a lot of the pieces fitted but not installed. I am concerned because each individual piece looks to vary in width by 1-5”. Totally inconsistent. I would expect that each section of pool coping would be approximately equal length so that it doesn’t look choppy when complete. They had the stone cut in equal square offsite and are cutting the curves on premise. I don’t know much about masonary work but I think this is making it so that each stone is inconsistent and it’s width.

I have additional caps on the stone walls surrounding the house and measured those. More or less they are all approximately 26.5 inches wide. Am I being overly anal about expecting the stones to be a consistent width around the pool?

Also don’t worry about the inconsistent depth as apparently they will ensure the depths are correct and then do one final cut around the inside of the pool

I like the variable width look. But that’s a personal preference for sure.

Thanks for your reply. I don’t mind if it is consistently inconsistent (if that’s a thing) but having one side 22” and the other 18” seems weird and then another area 25”.
Agreed. It should look random. Explain that concept to them and see how it goes!
