New Pool Coming

My above ground pool will be set up in five days and the electrician will come the next day. I have been reading everything I can and I love this site. I have some (many) questions.

1. It came with a Nature2 Vision Pro. From what I've read here, don't use it right? The store made it sound like since it was just me taking care of this pool that was the answer to my prayers. What I've read here, it sounds like they lied. Am I right in telling them not to install it?

2. Once my pool is filled, where do I start? I have ordered the test kit recommended on TFP. Do I jump into testing and adjusting? Am I right that I only need chlorine (bleach) to start with?

3. How soon can we swim after set up?

4. Anything else I need to know starting up?

Hello, most above ground pools have vinyl liners, so you can jump right in after fill up.

When you get your test kit test your water. Being city water it should be fairly well balanced, minus the CYA and FC. It is easiest to care for a pool if you add CYA to protect the chlorine from the sun. If you have questions on what to do please let us know.

Read up on Basic Pool care. pH and FC are very important when starting a pool, adding CYA is mandatory in my book.
