New Pool Build (Steel Wall / Vinyl)- Can you move already installed light niches?

Hi everyone,

Building a new home. First thing to go in is the pool.

When I went to see the job today they cut holes and installed the niches in weird to me positions (e.g., off centre on one of the steps).

Question - is it possible to repair the holes they already made without having the vinyl liner being "wavy" where the old hole was previously? Can this even be repaired? In the attached picture I want the light niche dead centre. The other hole off to the side is a return.

It is going to be VERY hard to repair that hole without the liner showing it. Saying that I don't think anyone will really notice it when they are enjoying your pool. They will just be happy to swim and enjoy!

That is an odd placement, did they provide any reason why they put it there?
