New Pool Build in Mckinney Texas

So, getting closer to being done. Waiting on a few issues to be taken care of before showing final pictures. However I do need some advice on one issue.

My PB sold me two Jandy SVRS 2.0 Pumps
. However, they plumbed the second pump just for my two Luminars. So it looks like they have a 2 inch intake and then trying to push the two jets only though two 1 inch pipes to the luminars.

The super is trying to tell me its working fine just because its big enough. However, I am unable to get the pump to fully prime nor even a full stream when the pump lowers RPM after it tries to prime.

I just got in a yelling match with him because he was trying to tell me its ok and we would just ramp up the VSP up to prime speed to get the full effect of the Luminars even though each can only handle 10GPH.

Am I off Base on this. Just looking at the science, the Pump can never get to Prime because its so big and its trying to push water out of just 2 1 inch pipes. Thus making it work harder and never getting the pressure necessary to run the Luminars.

Please help!!!

One way you can show him is by putting a vacuum guage in the drain plug on the pump trap and putting a pressure guage on the other drain plug closer to the discharge line in the Volute. Love to see those readings at different rpm. First of all you could have tee'd of the return plumbing with a 3-way and maybe a actuator to control that line to the luminaries. I think he oversold you on a second pump
