New Pool Build because of Big Green Egg - FINAL INSPECTION

Re: New Pool Build in Central Texas because of Big Green Egg

My flow rate is quite variable here as I live on the end of a cul de sac so that makes it tough but am watching the meter carefully and adjusting for usage. We have very little home usage today as we showered at our gym and have not done any laundry or dish washing today!

If I told you we were monitoring toilet flushes you would think we were nuts so I won't tell you if we are doing that!

I have not commented on your thread before but I have been a keen reader.
You've shown patience/resolve in face of unforseen events, blatant negligence and incompetence.
Hope you get enjoy trouble free and refreshing swims for many many years to come.
Cheers!

If your pool builder is any good, it will hold exactly what he said. All my dimensions, including depth, are within 1/2 inch of the original plan. My capacity is right on, per plan. Well you could add or subtract 50-100 gallons by just adjusting the auto fill float.

I expect to be off by several thousand gallons and I have no idea by which way!!!!!

Still no electricty....electricians still haven't showed up.......starting to hit panic mode. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, why should that have been done per plan when nothing else has.

How do you know your capacity is right on, per plan? How did you check it?
I'm told my pool holds 23,500 gallons, per plan, but I have no idea if that is correct or how I would verify it.

Re: New Pool Build in Central Texas because of Big Green Egg

1. Read the water meter before and after filling. The amount for household use during filling mostly overnight is minimal and can be accounted for.

2. Confirm by Pool Calculator that chemical additions change chemistry exactly as predicted.

Re: New Pool Build in Central Texas because of Big Green Egg

Pool is almost filled, anticipate another hour.

Electricians came a couple of hours ago, first thing they ask is "What are we supposed to do"?

Are you freaking kidding me?!!!!!!!!! Very close at that point for all of you to watch my trial on TV like some of the ones going on now......when I killed them.

I do have power to all my pumps now but one of the actuators was left lying on the ground.....Pretty sure that is important but I am no expert.......

Lights are installed. I had an all Jandy equipment install but they were going to use Fiberstar Treo LED lights. I guess they had problems with them on some other installs talking to the Jandy controller so they installed the Jandy LED's for me. I am very happy about that!

Re: New Pool Build in Central Texas because of Big Green Egg

Chiefwej, that's good for a new fill but my pool is already full. I'd have to empty it to do that and it took almost 3 days to fill, a long time to suspend other uses of water including showers, laundry, flushes and irrigation. Anyway, I'm good with the 23,500 gallon figure. I'm sure it's close enough.

As of 5:00 today we have an operational pool! There is still a pretty long punch list of things that need to be completed but at least we can enjoy the pool while those things are worked on. Everything looks fantastic.

Re: New Pool Build in Central Texas because of BGE - Swimmin

Pool ended up being close to 2000 less gallons than originally anticipated. That makes sense as I don't think they took into account the seating ledges and stairs. Additionally we increased the length of the tanning ledge about 2 feet to make sure we could put lounge chairs there after the original estimate.

We are hanging out by it today for the holiday!
