New pool being filled with Well Water.

Hello everyone,
I am not new to owning a pool but, it has been a few years since my last one.
I was hoping for a lil refresher. lol Maybe some new products or ideas since my last go round.
So we will most likely start filling our new pool tomorrow. This one is a Intex 24' L x 12' W x 52"D. I have the A/C cartridge filter that came with it but, just ordered a sand filter that we will be using.
Sadly, I will have to fill it with our well water. :-(
In the past the water would be cloudy and sediment on the bottom.
I would then run Metal Free for a few days and then add chlorine and whatever other chemicals needed.
I have also added Chlorine first and ended up with a lovely green or muddy brown pool that had taken weeks with Metal Free or Metal out to clear at times. :-(
If any of you have any tips or advice, I would greatly appreciate them before I get started.

It looks to me like a garden hose fits directly onto them.
