Hi all,
New plaster 8 days ago. Company managed chemicals and brushing first four days (or so I thought). He added one gallon of start up tech, one gallon of muriatic acid, and one gallon of liquid chlorine. We've had some communication issues.
Day 5- an issue with our pool cover ( closed with no electricity to it to open) and no brushing or testing could happen.
Day 6- pH>8.0, TA 60, Ca 90, no CYA or chlorine. Added acid (I can't find where I wrote down amts- it was all per pool math app) and calcium. Day 7 pH> 8.0, TA 50, Ca 110, no CYA or chlorine, added CYA to sock in skimmer (plaster guy told me not to add chlorine till l I got the pH under control) and acid 4c ,
Day 8 (am) pH over 8.0, TA 50, Ca 110, still no CYA reading or chlorine. Did acid demand test- said to add 2 quarts acid.
Day 8 afternoon pH>8.0, TA 40, Ca 110, still no CYA reading or chlorine added.
So obviously the acid is doing something (as my TA is going down) but my pH is not budging at all. I have used two different testing kits (one new and one older- same result). I will add more calcium now but I'm getting worried that the pH is so high and that I haven't added any chlorine. I managed the pool prior to the re-plaster with relative ease but this is getting the best of me. HELP!
