Hello! I am a new member and currently on day 15 after a new pool plaster (traditional white plaster) in north Houston. My original pool surface was about 20 years old, and I have traditionally treated with TABS and granular CH but I am interested in switching over to liquids. I'm finding a lot of folks (including the remodel company, even a local chemical company) are not a fan of adding CYA conditioner at this point in the process. Any thoughts as to why they are so adverse to starting to increase the CYA to the recommended levels? For sure the pool is burning through any liquid chlorine 12% additions I am making. I have yet to achieve any FC readings above 0.1.

PH 7.6

CH 200
CYA 0 (none added yet, companies have me spooked)
