Morning all! I just swapped out a pool heater that was dead with the exact same unit. It fires up when I press the button to start it, blower turns on and you can hear the initial ignition but the pool temp reading rapidly increases and it shuts off in under 10 seconds each time. The temp will then drop and it will fire up again and repeat. Any ideas what I should try next? Very much appreciate any tips!

What shows on the MasterTemp display when the heater cycles?
"pool temp rising rapidly" on the MasterTemp display? The water temperature display should not rise rapidly. It says you do not have adequate water flow through the heater.
Check the thermal regulator and the bypass valve.

It looks like you used DWV 90's that you get at HD and are not for pressurized applications. You should be using Schedule 40 fittings in all your plumbing. Read PVC Repair - Further Reading
