New Owner Just Getting Started

How many threads have started with that title? We just bought a house that came with a pool. It's shaped like a Kidney bean. I did the calculation for size on Pentair and it came out to 6,800 gallons. It was 26ft long and at the widest ends 10ft across. At the narrowest end it was 8ft across. It goes from 3ft deep to 5.5ft deep. I don't even know what most of the equipment is. I did order a test kit (K2006C-Salt) and some tools, a bruch and net. The test kit isn't here yet. From what I gather its a salt water pool with a cartridge filter? It had a heater but is disconnected. What I believe is the salt water generator is showing a red light for no flow and flashing red and green for salt level. I'm not sure what those 3 boxes on the wall are for? Two look like some sort of timers, the middle one says intellichlor. The pump seems to run 24hrs a day. I'd like to start testing when the kit arrives but again I'm clueless. I did order the smart stir. Just looking for general knowledge and some pointers if you would be so kind.

I also don't know what the thing is in the last 2 pictures, some sort of light? Doesn't seem to function.
