This is a new motor that I just replaced (booster pump)...I can see the shaft spinning for those 5 seconds but then it cuts off on its own...Motor feels hot to the touch....the Motor clicks after about a minute and then it will let me turn it back on...but it shuts down after 5 seconds again...

I'm looking for suggestions.

thanks

What's the power supply voltage?

Motors come wired for 240 volts, if you use 120 volts for power, you need to change the voltage of the pump wiring according to the label.

Yes - the switch on the back of the motor arrived in the 240V position so I moved it to 120V since I am in the USA...I bought a 2nd motor and I am having the exact same issue with it too.

Whoa slow down partner.

Almost all Us homes are wired for 2 phase power. Each phase is 120 volts alternating current. Both phases are 240 vac. In Europe a singe phase is 240 ac.

2 phase power has no separate neutral and can be wired a number of ways.

I suggest you have a pool company or electrician come over and wire the pump.
