New motor but impeller doesn’t fit...

I followed the look up replacement instructions on a pool site to replace my AO Smith SP1610Z2MSC dual speed with what was suggested which was a B2842. The shaft to the new motor is too big- won’t fit my impeller, etc.
Why is this? What do I need to do now? Could I buy a new impeller and diffuser?

Thanks so much!!! Is there a replacement motor for the SPX1610Z2MS that is 1 speed that would fit impeller/housing?
