Michigan resident who just completed a total pool renovation. New pool, new water, but same old phosphates. I use a Nautilus pool sweep, and a brand-new Betta pool skimmer. Glad to be here.

Welcome aboard! There's some extremely knowledgeable people here that will help you out... if you don't have a proper test kit yet, GET ONT! a Taylor 2006C or TF-100 kit (from this site). Both will be needed if you want help with managing your pool. You'll learn a lot! I went from knowing absolutely nothing to being more competent that past pool maintenance companies I used....
