New member coming to you from St. Croix in the USVI. Moved into a home a couple years ago with a long lap pool (50' L x 6' W x 4' Deep = 9,000 gallons). The pool (and house) were in disrepair after being empty for years, so we had to replace the pump (Pentair Intelliflo VSF), added a salt chlorine generator, and re-grouted (2" tiles on the walls and bottom). Pool had 2 skimmers, but one has a so far untraceable leak so it has been decommissioned. Other than that, pool has been relatively trouble free except for some problematic rust spots that we'll need to eventually address. After 2 years of using a pool company to maintain the pool (and we have zero complaints with them), we are looking to learn more about the chemistry and maintenance of the pool and eventually drop the service.

Thanks!

Matt

Welcome to the forum

TFP is all about good test results and knowing what to do with them. I suggest your get either a TF-100 or TF Pro from TF testkits or the K-2006C from Taylor. Please read "The "ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry" up in Pool School as a start and when your kit gets in, we can help with the tests, How does your water look now?
