New IG Pool Build Arlington | Let's Do This!

After some rain delays gunite day has come and gone and we have a pool shell! Electrical was completed today and tile and coping start tomorrow. So excited to show you the awesome time-lapse video of the gunite being put in. Oh wait, I can't because the gunite crew shattered my patio door that the GoPro was attached at, the GoPro is just fine. The door not so much but the good news is that we were going to replace it anyway. PB is taking care of it.

Soooooo, here are some pics. Whoever invented tempered glass came up with a really good idea.

They did WHAT??? Don't they know we were waiting for that video??? BAD! At least they are going to take care of it!

Have you started bonding with your pool yet? aka watering it! Try to 2 times a day. There may still be some small cracks but that is normal so long as they are small (cannot put a penny nail in it).

It is time for your set of links! This is something I put together for new pool owners. It is a lot of info that will take some using to to make it really click.

Print these out:
Pool School - Basic Pool Care Schedule

Pool School - Recommended Levels

Bookmark these:
Pool School - Recommended Pool Chemicals

Pool Math

Pool School - ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry

Make sure to ask any and all questions you might have no matter how small! We have all been where you are at one point.

It is also a good time to check what test kit your PB will be providing. Let us know so we can fill in any holes.

Thanks, Kim, I have been waiting for this post for weeks, always loved seeing it on others people's builds. It feels like I am now officially a pool owner!

We have been watering 3 times per day. I do early morning, wife does midday and I do evening. I must say it is pretty relaxing.

I have the pool math app, have my TF-100 kit and am very much looking forward to decks, plaster and fill. Will be rereading the links you shared above in preparation for maintaining a TFP.

The bad news is that the GoPro did get damaged in the shotcrete heard round the world incident so can't time-lapse the tile and coping. Will get picks and hopefully get the GoPro back in form for the decks and plaster phase. Still hoping to be swimming 2nd week of September.

Well it is official then!

Any chance the PB will help repair the go-pro? I have a sad for it :( and us.

The PB took care of the glass and GoPro so all is well! Here are pics of tile and coping as well as the deck forms. Decks should be poured Friday or Saturday after inspection. Then the patio cover will be built and then plaster. Coming down the home stretch!
